Norse Serpent™ Viking Seax Knife

The Norse Serpent™ Viking Seax Knife combines a compact broken-back blade with an intricately decorated bone-and-brass handle and an ornate Viking-inspired leather sheath.

Measuring approximately 8.3 inches overall, this historical-style Seax features an approximately 3.9-inch blade hand-forged from EN45 high-carbon spring steel. Its thick spine and angular broken-back profile give the compact knife the distinctive appearance associated with traditional Seax designs.

The polished animal-bone handle is etched on both sides with an intricate Norse-inspired motif. A brass collar sits toward the blade, while the matching brass butt cap incorporates a generously sized brass ring that can be used for attaching a lanyard.

The included vegetable-tanned leather sheath features hand-tooled Norse knotwork, antiqued brass fittings, and two striking suspension rings shaped like coiled serpents.

The defining feature of the Norse Serpent™ is its polished animal-bone grip.

Both sides are decorated with an intricate etched Norse-style motif, creating a strong contrast against the light natural bone.

Brass fittings frame the handle, while the large brass ring at the end provides an attachment point for a lanyard.

EN45 Broken-Back Blade

The approximately 3.9-inch blade is hand-forged from EN45 high-carbon spring steel.

Its distinctive broken-back shape and approximately 4 mm spine give this compact Seax a substantial historical-style profile.

The blade is supplied with an unsharpened edge.

Serpent Ring Leather Sheath

The sheath is one of the most distinctive elements of the Norse Serpent™.

Made from thick vegetable-tanned leather, it features hand-tooled Norse knotwork, antiqued brass rivets and reinforcing details.

Two elegant brass suspension rings shaped like coiled serpents complete the Viking-inspired appearance.

Natural Material Variation

Animal bone and leather are natural materials. Differences in color, grain, and surface characteristics should therefore be expected between individual knives.

The decorative work is handcrafted as well, so the ornaments may vary slightly from piece to piece.

Carbon Steel Care

EN45 high-carbon steel is not stainless and requires regular maintenance.

Keep the blade clean and completely dry. Periodically apply a thin coating of suitable blade oil to help protect the steel against moisture and surface corrosion.

Never store the knife wet or damp inside its leather sheath.
