Gotland Raven™ Damascus Viking Knife
The Gotland Raven™ Viking Knife is a compact historical-style knife inspired by a Viking Age archaeological find from Gotland, Sweden.
Its approximately 3.15-inch blade is made from 256-layer Damascus steel using 4340 and 1070 steels, producing a distinctive patterned finish. The blade comes with a sharp edge.
At approximately 6.9 inches overall, the Gotland Raven™ offers a considerably more compact profile than a traditional long seax, making it an attractive piece for Viking, Norse, medieval, and historical knife collections.
The handle is crafted from natural wood and finished with a brass collar and brass butt cap. An eyelet in the butt cap can accommodate a lanyard and adds another traditional detail to the design.
A tanned leather sheath with decorative brass fittings and a suspension ring is included for belt carry.

Inspired by a Gotland Viking Find
The design is modeled after an archaeological knife discovered at Hellvi on the Swedish island of Gotland and dated to approximately the 9th or 10th century.
The original archaeological piece is held by the Historical Museum in Stockholm.
256-Layer Damascus Blade
The compact blade is constructed from 256 layers of 4340 and 1070 Damascus steel.
Its visible layered pattern complements the traditional Viking-inspired design, while the approximately 3.15-inch blade keeps the knife considerably smaller than the long seax designs in our collection.
Natural Wood & Brass Handle
The handle uses natural wood accented by a brass collar and brass butt cap.
A convenient eyelet is incorporated into the butt cap for attaching a lanyard or assisting with drawing the knife from its sheath.
Natural variations in wood grain and coloration mean individual handles can differ slightly in appearance.
Leather & Brass Sheath
The knife includes a tanned leather sheath decorated with brass fittings.
A suspension ring provides a traditional-style attachment point for belt carry and complements the brass details used on the handle.
Damascus Steel Care
The Damascus steel used for this knife is not stainless.
Keep the blade clean and completely dry after handling or use. Periodically applying a thin coat of suitable blade oil can help protect the steel against surface corrosion and tarnishing.
Never store the knife wet inside its leather sheath.
