Gotland Ironcrest™ Viking Knife

The Gotland Ironcrest™ Viking Knife is a compact historical-style fixed blade inspired by a Viking Age archaeological find from Gotland, Sweden.

Its approximately 4.1-inch sharpened blade is hand-forged from high-carbon steel. The oxide scale is intentionally retained on the blade flats, giving the knife a dark, rustic forged appearance that complements its historical design.

Measuring approximately 8.7 inches overall, the Gotland Ironcrest™ combines a practical compact profile with traditional Viking-inspired materials and details.

The handle is crafted from walnut wood and animal bone, finished with a brass collar and brass butt. The brass butt also features an eyelet that can be used for attaching a lanyard or assisting with drawing the knife from its sheath.

A tanned leather sheath with ornate brass fittings, suspension ring, and belt loop is included for traditional-style belt carry.

The Gotland Ironcrest™ is inspired by an original archaeological knife from Gotland, Sweden, dating to approximately the 9th or 10th century.

Its combination of a rustic forged blade, walnut wood, bone, brass fittings, and decorated leather sheath creates a distinctive Viking-inspired appearance.

Hand-Forged High-Carbon Steel Blade

The approximately 4.1-inch blade is hand-forged from high-carbon steel and comes with a sharpened edge.

Rather than polishing the entire blade, the dark oxide scale is intentionally retained on the flats. This creates the rustic forged finish that defines the knife's appearance.

Walnut Wood, Bone & Brass Handle

The handle combines walnut wood with animal bone and brass fittings.

A bone ring separates elements of the wooden grip, while the brass collar and brass butt provide contrasting details. An eyelet in the butt can accommodate a lanyard.

Because walnut and bone are natural materials, variations in grain, coloration, and surface appearance can occur between individual pieces.

Leather & Brass Sheath

A tanned leather sheath is included with ornate brass fittings, a suspension ring, and a belt loop.

The belt loop accommodates belts up to approximately 5 cm wide, providing a traditional-style carry option that complements the historical appearance of the knife.

Carbon Steel Care

The high-carbon steel blade is not stainless and requires regular maintenance.

Keep the blade clean and completely dry after handling or use. Apply a thin layer of suitable blade oil periodically to help protect against surface corrosion.

Slight surface tarnishing can naturally develop on carbon steel, particularly when exposed to humidity. Never store the blade wet inside its leather sheath.
