This axe holds the pattern of that of a historical find; the Mammen axe. During the excavation of a grave in Mammen, Denmark, they found the remnants of a beautiful small axe with distinct etchings. The find was of such great important and elegance of design that many replicas are made today.
Our Mammen axe has an intricate acid-etched full-polish head, hafted on charred Ash and hand-wrapped in chunky black leather. These axes are traditionally made, forged and individually hand-hammered, followed by hand-etching with age-old acid techniques; each axe head will be slightly unique.
